I painted some roses in watercolor and some white gouache. I wanted to play around with colors for the wash and then just went with whatever I had to work with after that. I didn’t sketch anything out beforehand and just got to freely create and it felt great. What do you think?

I repainted the colors of this oil painting today because the previous shades (you can see it in an older post here) started to feel wrong. They reflected my emotional state at the time, but I also want to strongly bring out the feeling of hope in my paintings; Hopefully it is more visible here, but the message of the artwork is the same: An old woman wondering the state of the world...
