It's a strange thing.
I know how to read and write the Greek Cyrillic alphabets, but most of the time I have no idea what I'm reading about.
I only know Καλημέρα, παρακαλώ, ευχαριστώ πολύ (Hello, please, thanks a lot) for the Greek, and Сиводня, спасибо for the Russian Cyrillic (today, thank you).

I'm on day 5 of learning Polish using the Drops app. I've requested "Polish for Dummies" and "Złotowłosa i trzy misie/Goldilocks and the three bears" through my local library. I've also very optimistically purchased an eBook copy of the Cyberiada by Stanisław Lem.

So far, it's nifty how much my high school French class seems to help with Polish--like, knowing French "quelle heure est-il" makes it easier to learn Polish "kiedy". I don't know if that makes sense linguistically or if it's just my brain having more options to make connections along. #polishlanguage #happy #languagelearner

Do you sometimes have more trouble than you should when an exercise requires to translate a single sentence without any context? Or when only asked to do "as shown in the example" and you aren't sure you understood what was asked from you, even though (that is important) it is something you would have no trouble with saying in context? I think ONEW's name is a good example of the English-to-Korean spelling/reading challenges I have as a #LanguageLearner.

Pronounced, ONEW is "Oh-New" in English. We like our consonants to move to the beginning of a syllable in this case.

In Korean, it is 온유 - "Ohn-yew", with the ㄴ/N at the bottom of a syllable.
