I just built a custom web component for #leaflet and I'm pretty happy with it.
It takes care of importing the styles and the js then loops through children and creates a marker for each. The content of each children is then used for the marker popup.

Success! Just fixed a problem with GISsurfer maps that sometimes caused ArcGIS data to not display when you panned/zoomed the map. It was an easy fix (those are the best kind). Just needed to update the versions of ESRI plugins that GISsurfer was using.
Symbols on this map display METAR weather stations. Open the map, click a symbol and follow the link. You will see a table with **near real time** wind speed and other weather parameters.
As you pan/zoom the map the data should appear on your screen without any problem.

Mapdown is a drop-in library that renders GPX or a list of coordinates to a #map, using #Leaflet and #OpenStreetMap. You just drop-in stylesheets + script and it renders. Primarily targeting #markdown generated #HTML, but can be used for any HTML doc.
The Leaflet Thread Viewer is super interesting. I will say the "triple pane" looks kind of hilarious on desktop web. Second screenshot, Amber's thread is what I wanted to highlight. Having this "thread view" embedded would also be interesting. I picked the second post to embed.

Question for folks that use #leaflet or #htmlwidgets in #Rstats outside of RStudio/VSCode/Positron:
What does the default print method for leaflet() do when called from a regular R console? I'm just getting an apparently blank HTML file in my browser (see attached screenshot) when I print it in the console. If I render it in a Quarto HTML document it works great, but this is really annoying to have to re-render the document every time because I'm still learning leaflet and need to do a lot of quick trial and error.
I suspect the file isn't showing properly cause I'm calling it from inside a Toolbx OCI container but viewing it in the host browser. I can't easily test this right now though because my host R installation didn't survive the update from Fedora 42 -> 43, and rig hasn't added support for 43 yet.
The smart phone-optimized version of the interactive Map on my wiki looks pretty, too!
#Leaflet in combination with #MediaWiki is so much more flexible than #Google MyMaps.
