Doing a dry-run of in-place CentOS/RHEL upgrade with #leapp. I wonder what happened to fuck-my-shit-up…

Tried upgrading a clean RHEL 9.6 install to RHEL 10.0 using the official leapp tool — no custom configs, no extra packages.

Result? Boot failure and emergency mode.
If it breaks in the most trivial case, how can we trust it in production?

Was just a test, but still... lesson learned.
Anyone out there actually pulled this off?

For the second time in raw I didn't manage to upgrade #rhel 9.6 to rhel 10 vis #leapp . Freshly installed and upgraded rhel 9.6 doesn't manage to overcome a kernel module and a library dependency that breaks sudo. Will send more details tomorrow. Anyone else experienced the same thing? Is it really that shitty, or is it to early to upgrade?

Upgraded to #rhel10 in place using #leapp on my production server. Everything worked; no issues other than needing to remove epel temporarily during the upgrade. Reminded me that I need to replace the bnx2 10G NICS in that server sooner rather than later.

#PSA When using that crazy brain-transplanter leapp, it is important to have a big enough braincase. Half a GB of RAM is inadequate. It results in midstream OOMs that are handled badly and can result in a completely insane system.
