This investigation comes from my work on a #P2P #ChatApp. I found it tricky in a #FunctionalProgramming approach to handle #Async #Messages from peers needing the latest #State values. The challenge? How #JavaScript scopes variables in #Callbacks.

I wanted to explore a solution out of curiosity to see if it could work. I'm not trying to push "yet another #StateManagement library." This is about my #LearningProcess for use in #PersonalProjects.

Looking for some opinions on how to effectively learn using AI, search engines, and current knowledge.

I feel like I'm cheating with the stuff that I'm learning by using #ai. I've started over learning various devops or programming tracks multiple times over the years but never focused on using AI. I have some basic IT knowledge, currently I'm trying to learn more about #selfhosting using a VPS, but I'm heavily leaning on #chatgpt on two sides I noticed.

1. Beginning on new topic
2. Random errors that I can't figure out in search engine results in 5 minutes

I feel like using AI makes it way too easy BUT I'm having fun and it's closing gaps I would give up on typically. When ChatGPT does something for me I sit with it for 5 to 10 minutes, reading it, trying to understand it, and if I'm comfortable, modifying it to see if I do understand it.

I'm documenting as I go to(as best as you do...) to keep track of what things do, how they work, and why 8 made them work that way.

How's this approach?

I can't thank the friend ( @Ladymirdan ) enough, who told me time and again to "trust the process" with miniature painting. That things will come together.

That's such a hard lesson for me to learn! Yesterday I was nearly at the point of stripping my Raptor again, but I set him aside, took some time off of painting him, finished Icalamander .. and now I'm having fun with him again! 😊

I've made a digital garden with 11ty (https://notes.danielvoicu.dev), based on a template I found on Github.

I seem to spend more time tinkering with the code (which I like doing), trying to see what I can add or what I can change than actually writing new notes.

One thing that I need to change would be the RSS feed so it only updates with a specific type of note ("growing” notes, for example).

Finally dared to cut vinyl with my ol' cricut. I don't know what I was so afraid of, it went great! Maybe I watched *too* many tutorials and got intimidated & thought it was worse than it would be? Does that happen to you?

I've now had to rebuild my #pihole three times over the last couple of years due to some kind of (non-SD) corruption. I'm becoming an expert in it! I think I might start taking a build image every so often, rather than just a Teleporter (config) backup, that way I can theoretically just swap in a new card rather than having to rebuild from scratch. #LearningProcess
