A large (c. 12cm wingspan?) moth, mostly dark brown but with various silvery-gold iridescent patterns, a white stripe across its forewing, and a comma-shaped stigma on each forewing too. Lying dead on grass, with a human hand framing it - forewing length is nearly the same length as the human's forefinger.

This is a leafwing (Doleschallia bisaltide), so-called because, well, its wings look like leaves! This species extends from South and South East Asia all the way down to Australia.

A medium - small sized butterfly is poised on a broken brown beer bottle. Its wings are fully open, showing its powder blue color on its body and shading into its wings, but quickly going to brown with white edges and a few dark spots on the lower wings. Assorted weeds grow around, damp with recent rains.
