Minor upgrade. Added an 128G eMMC module to my #LePotato running #pihole on #armbian. armbian-config made it simple to transfer the installed OS from the sd-card to the emmc module. Had to fix a permission problem on one file to get pihole web ui working again. #librecomputer
There's also a Batocera build for the #LePotato, which has an aml-s905x-cc maybe similar to a #Powkiddy #A20? I can get ten of those for $35 https://amazon.com/dp/B0BPCWTQQ7
As the #lePotato is supposed to be a competitor to the #RaspberryPi, It's probably worth mentioning that one of my Pis has been running flawlessly for a current uptime of 157 days, and that's only because I had to shut it down to install a modified distro. It's essentially been running 24/7 for years without issue.
Ugh.
As soon as I got the #LePotato up and running again, it's already back offline. It's refusing to see any external drives, my wifi adapter, and the Ethernet connection. Basically, everything that would be needed to use it as a simple server is failing.
I'm sure that with enough troubleshooting I could get this back online (again)... But I think I've had enough of this #SBC and will be replacing it with a #Lenovo #TinyPC
My #gopher site has been offline for a bit. I was running it on #lepotato and only recently got around to troubleshooting. I figured it would be an issue with the Wi-Fi dongle, since I also couldn't SSH into the system. Well, as it turns out, apparently the SD got corrupted and I've completely lost all the files and configurations.
So... It might be a little while before I get it back online.
Has anyone had any luck getting an #mmdvm hat to function on a any of the SBCs from @librecomputer, or more specifically, #lepotato?
I'm thinking about upgrading my #dmr #hotspot, and was considering a libre board over a pi for the project. I've heard the #gpio pins can be "remapped," so to speak, at the software level, but I don't know if alone would be enough for compatibility.

Hi! Not sure this is helpful 5+ months after you asked, but #LibreComputer recently published instructions on how to disable USB scanning at boot on their boards, including #LePotato. Basically, add
preboot=
to boot.ini on the first partition.

Notes for #OSX. If you use homebrew, run
"brew Install pyusb" before trying to run “python3 -m pip install pyusb”
You'll also need "brew install git" if you don't have it installed :)
Everything else works as per these instructions.
My #LePotato is now installed into an RPI 3B case. The board is a bit loose in the case despite the RPI fitting snuggly, so the board is apparently a slightly different size than the pi.
Direwolf and rigctl configuration was quick and easy, copying over from the pi without issue. It's now up and running as a digipeater and igate.
So far, the only issue I've encountered is the screen resolution, which seems to be stuck at 720x576 for some reason. 🫤
Recently received a #LePotato board by @librecomputer.
My goal is to use this as a more power efficient replacement to my #RaspberryPi 3b, which currently serves as an #aprs #digipeater, #igate, and remote #wsjtx host.
First impressions: the documentation is pretty lacking, but the board itself seems well made.

After weeks, if not months, struggling with #Batocera and the LibreComputer board #LePotato I finally found a work-around.
I bought a "usb mini to usb mini On/Off switch" so I can turn off easily the board when I get the message from the TV that video signal is missing.
It is not a solution but it does its dirty work... :flan_shrug:

What are the odds that someone here happens to know how to disable USB boot on the #LibreComputer #LePotato #sbc (AML-S905X-CC to be precise)? Can't get mine to boot with an external drive connected.. (and asking on their official forums does not provide any answers)

'shutdown -H now' does not work...
'shutdown -P now' does not work...

`halt' does not work...
'halt -p' does not work...

I am very frustrated since are weeks that I am trying to find a solution better than unplug the A/C unit during the reboot...
Otherwise the board simply reboot instead of shutting down...

BENCHMARKFEST 2023 UPDATE
Le Potato testing is complete as is retesting of the Inovato Quadra and Rock 5B. Still waiting to hear back about a possible trade to acquire a Raspberry Pi 4B. Retesting of Mini PCs will commence later tonight as well as putting Le Potato in my GeeekPi cluster case.
