It was a freezing, bitterly cold day, but the clear skies promised a lovely sunset. I had a brilliant day birding in Tønder Marsk and wasn't quite ready to end it just yet. So I went to the car, made myself a mug of hot cocoa, picked up a blanket, and sat down on top of the dike to enjoy the last rays of the sun.
Lo and behold it was a decision well worth it because I got to see the rare Green Flash

Die Freiheit als Gefängnis.

Eigentlich steht Delphine die Welt offen. Sie muss sich um Geld anscheinend wenig Gedanken machen, ist ungebunden und hat alle Möglichkeiten zu reisen. Sie kann im Urlaub unbesorgt in den Tag hinein leben, den ganzen Tag lesen, im Meer schwimmen oder Party bis zum Abwinken machen. Die Welt steht ihr offen. Doch genau das ist es, das sie in Schockstarre fallen lässt.

Delphine scheint niemals wirklich zu sich selbst gefunden zu haben. Sie kennt ihre Bedürfnisse und ihren Wert nicht, hat keine Wünsche oder Ziele. Sie kennt nur die Hand, von der sie bisher – vielleicht nicht ganz freiwillig – durch die Welt gezogen wurde. Das Patriarchat scheint durch.

Aber zu sehen, wie sie diese Schockstarre schließlich aus sich selbst heraus aufbrechen kann, das ist wirklich zutiefst bewegend.
