People who stayed in one job for 10, 20, even 25 years -
They weren't loyal to the company. They were loyal to their self-interest.
How do I know?
Because I've been in one organization for 3 months, and in another for 3.5 years.
It's always been about mutual benefit, not loyalty. Layoffs are unfortunate, yes.
But let's stop confusing tenure with loyalty. Years served don't mean you were ever safe or ever owned.

A LinkedIn post by Collin Rutherford, a CEO. The post begins with Rutherford stating he received a message from his "Pakistani software developer this morning..." followed by a direct quote: "There have been some drone attacks in our area of residence. We're not sure what will happen next."

Rutherford then comments on the employee's dedication, contrasting it with his experiences in the United States. He states, "It's hard to find this level of dedication in employees. In my experience, it's (almost) impossible to find it in the United States."

Below the LinkedIn post is a screenshot of Slack messages. The first message is from "Hey team" at 11:40 AM, stating: "My purpose behind informing everybody in the team is that I want you guys to be aware and ready for any challenges that may come.
