CachyOS April 2025 update released
CachyOS, a Linux distribution that is known for its high performance for computers and for handheld gaming consoles, has been updated to the April 2025 version that improves your gaming experience and overall computer performance. This version is a minor version that focuses on fixing module crashes for some ASUS laptops and improving the Limine bootloader support.
For portable gaming consoles, this update adds audio profiles to the distribution for the ASUS ROG Ally X and the Lenovo Legion Go consoles to make gaming more immersive than before. It also allows you to use the OCCT benchmark tool to perform hardware tests without the need for an Internet connection.
To further enhance gaming performance, Valve’s upstream Gamescope is also used instead of gamescope-plus to provide compositing for games. The former composition is used by the Steam Deck gaming console, while the latter is a collection of patches to the ChimeraOS’ Gamescope implementation.
