I found this picture lurking away on one of my devices. This is taken from the shore nearest the A95.

#Cairngorms #LochVaa

A view over Loch Vaa. The water is still and like a mirror, reflecting the blue sky and clouds floating gently past. On the far shore fairly dense trees can be seen, The water level is low, showing the rocky shore that would normally be a bit more hidden.

First snow in Aviemore, first snowy walk of the winter. Through the local woods to Loch Vaa with Moray.

The tiny island in the last pic is the location of a crannog (a defended dwelling place built over the water on stilts, several thousand years ago).

Snowy scene, a lochan through the trees with more trees at the far side. Moray the dog looking at the camera.A lochan, with snow covering the rocky shore. Trees at the side and the back, and a boathouse on the far shore. Moray the dog looking at the camera, his yellow bandanna the only colour.Trees covered in snow at the back of a rocky beach, also covered in snow. The edge of a lochan on the left. Moray the dog looking into the trees. On a beach looking out over a lochan. The rocky shore is covered by snow, as is the far shore. Trees beyond. Moray the dog is looking over the view. A tiny island in the distance.
