Yesterday, during my bike tour, I was at a #lostplace right on river #Rhine. Turns out it's not quite so ‘lost’, because someone showed good taste and created a place with a view 😊

A yellowish deckchair stands in front of a large two-light window, one pane of which is blind in places. The backrest is raised so that the person sitting there has a great view of the blue waters of the Rhine, the sandy bank and the green meadows opposite. Zur Einstimmung auf den #FensterFreitag gibt's noch einen Nachschlag aus dem #Handelshafen in #Magdeburg. Er wurde 1893 eröffnet und war das größte Umschlagunternehmen an der Mittelelbe. Heute ist er Freiluftmuseum, Veranstaltungsgelände und Denkfabrik. Einige der riesigen #Speicher werden gerade zu Wohnhäusern umgebaut (dieser hier aber nicht). // To ease into that #WindowFriday feeling, here's another submission. This #building is part of the Handelshafen, "commerce port", in Magdeburg. It was opened in 1893 as the largest cargo handling business in the Middle Elbe region. Today, the area is part museum, part venue, and part business location. Some of the tall #warehouses are being turned into apartment buildings (not this one though).

A dramatic low-angle shot looks up the imposing facade of an old, multi-storey brick warehouse building at Handelshafen in Magdeburg. The building's walls feature a pattern of dark red and lighter yellowish bricks. A prominent, multi-tiered metal fire escape, heavily rusted with a deep reddish-brown patina, extends vertically up the centre of the building. Each level of the fire escape has a narrow balcony. Numerous windows with dark frames are visible, some arched at the base and others rectangular higher up, many showing reflections of the cloudy sky. Die verrostete Tür führt zu einer alten Flak-Stellung auf dem Letzenberg südlich von Heidelberg. Ende des 2. Weltkriegs wurden von hier aus anrückende US-Truppen durch die Wehrmacht angegriffen.

ansicht aus dem schon länger dachlosen inneren eines alten verfallenden gebäudes auf einem bahn-gelände. links im bild eine halb geöffnete 2-flügelige tür. deren oberes drittel ist mit fenstern, das mittlere aus holzbrettern, unten verrostetes blech. an der wand rechts daneben schaut unter großflächig abgeplatztem putz ziegelmauerwerk heraus und da hängen mehrere ebenfalls verfallene elektrische schalt- und sicherungskästen verschiedener größen.
alles ist grau-braun, trist aber auch pittoresk. das rostrot der korrodierten türen ist der bunteste fleck im bild.
