I've worked quite a bit on internal logic the past weeks and now we can finally unlock support for facetting in #loupe. Your #php and #sqlite only search engine will soon reach yet another level 😎 https://github.com/loupe-php/loupe/pull/184

How big is the pain in the #Gnome community in regard of a usable and convenient photo import UI? I am starting to grow really impatient with #shotwell - looking at the issue tracker (https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/shotwell/-/issues) yields similar errors in regard to iPhone, gvfs and gphoto2 for over 14 years. I was thinking of something like a simple import tool and let #loupe do the rest. Any takers?

If we want to have nice things, we have to pay for them (somehow). #Loupe is a core app and I love the way it goes. It's nice & useful, proud to support them on Patreon!
@werdahias @sophie Is #Loupe intended to replace Eye of Gnome? I've done "eog X" for so long it's practically muscle memory.

GNOME’s New Image Viewer is Add Image Editing Features
Loupe (aka Image Viewer) is GNOME’s modern successor to the venerable Eye of GNOME has picked up its first batch of image editing features. The features in question were only recently merged upstream, aren’t finished, and not yet included in a stable build. But they’re an interesting addition that furthers the likelihood that Loupe could become the default image viewer on Ubuntu. At present, Ubuntu continues to use Eye of GNOME as the default tool for opening and browsing image files on desktop, despite Loupe having officially replaced it upstream in the GNOME project as a GNOME Core app. Loupe :sys_more_orange:

GNOME 48: Release Date & Development Schedule
GNOME 47 ‘Denver’ proved a decent update to the GNOME desktop, delivering a hearty dose of new features, UI refinements, and app improvements. So as one release gets pushed out the door, work on the next begins. GNOME 48 ‘Bengaluru‘ (named after the host city of the GNOME Asia Summit taking place in December) is scheduled for release on March 19, 2025. The dates for important development milestones along the way to ensure there’s ample opportunity for implementing and testing of key changes, the necessary “freeze” to solidify the desired set of changes, and then more testing to refine and :sys_more_orange:

#Loupe is great
Thanks from remind me. I have some glitches showing #gifs which I never reported
I can't contribute right now, but I can help with #documentation
I start thinking my French reading skills are getting pretty good and then I go reading half an article thinking they're mentioning wolves in some idiomatic way but actually it's magnifying glass.
