having read this piece on #Lovelock now I realise it's rather important stuff for #astrobiology - on the origin of the ideas that life on another planet can be detected by the off-equilibrium composition of its #atmosphere.

Also important to note that much of that came from #DianHitchcock, whose name was new to me.

This is a great story about how the Gaia hypothesis originated. And there's an uncredited woman (again) at its heart.
