LBP: KPK sting operations give a terrible impression of this country

In a speech at the Corruption Prevention Action 2023-2024 event in Jakarta today, Coordinating Minister for Maritime and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan lamented the numerous sting operations by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) saying it gives a terrible impression of the country.

He called for greater digitalization of the country's systems to minimize the possibilities of people cheating the system and committing crimes but he also doubled down asking the KPK to ease up on the arrests because "people should be allowed to live a little." An ironic statement given at a corruption prevention summit.
