I knew someday I'd get around to cleaning it up. I did the best I could ;.v.;

"Fred Espenak, astronomy's 'Mr. Eclipse', dies at 71" by @Spacecom - He was the one behind the NASA Eclipse Page and later in retirement kept #eclipse data up-to-date with his Mr Eclipse atlas that computed #SolarEclipse and #LunarEclipse data through the upcoming century. I used his data for every lunar and solar eclipse I've watched. I would have liked to meet him. #astronomy

Tololo Lunar Eclipse Sky by Petr Horálek

On 14 March 2025, a total lunar eclipse occurred, especially visible over the Americas and the Pacific Ocean, observed from the NSF Cerro Tololo Inter-American Observatory in Chile. You can see how epic the sky was during totality, as the moon darkened enough for the majestic Milky Way, the faint belt of zodiacal light, and prominent airglow to stand out.

Tiny painting I did sometime after seeing a partial lunar eclipse. Have you ever gotten a good close up view of the moon and noticed the spots kinda look like paw prints? Or maybe that’s just me…? but that’s why I painted this. #art #lunareclipse #wolf

Photo of a small painting. It’s of a wolf climbing over a red moon.

Partial lunar eclipse from July 16, 2019

Unfortunately, I was not able to observe this year's partial solar eclipse on March 29, 2025, as the sky was completely overcast. Too bad, so here is “only” an older photo from the 2019 event:

At first it was a bit hazy but later, towards the end of the eclipse, the sight got better so I was able to take a few shots. However, I enjoyed watching the show. Will take quite a while until we can see the next one.

Here is the single image and also a composite using a zoomed in moon exposure from the same night.

"Photographer’s Once-in-a-Lifetime Shots of the Lunar Eclipse and Aurora" by @PetaPixel - A photographer from Nevada took a chance on the possibility to capture the total #LunarEclipse with #AuroraBorealis. Eclipses always happen on schedule. But #weather may not cooperate. Especially unlikely for #spaceweather. But it worked. petapixel.com/2025/03/17/photo #Moon🔴 #aurora #astronomy #photography #space

The #moon from my house on the day of the #LunarEclipse. This is a few hours after the eclipse itself. I don't exactly have a clear view for sunsets etc.

One of my frames from the Lunar Eclipse.

I did bracketed bursts at different exposure lengths during totality. So this is a stack of 70 images. The moon & stars are stacked separately and then recombined.

I did go a bit overboard on the processing for this one.

A red & orange full “blood” moon with stars in the background. From the March 13, 2025 Lunar Eclipse.
