I am getting more setup with my 2.5GbE #Unifi #ubiquiti and have two 2.5GbE USB dongles. One in my Mac and one Temporarily on my PC.

I have installed #OpenSpeedTest so I can test the speeds on network.

On my #samsungGalaxyzFold6 I get 1218Mbps download and 1321Mbps upload.

My my wired #MacMiniM4 I get 2026Mbps download and 2423Mbps upload.

As much as I still despise #Apple's #AntiRepairDesign and #SolderedDownRAM which has no legitimate excuse, the #MacMiniM4 at least doesn't have #SolderedDownSSDs anymore so #Upgrades and #Repair on that part that WILL INEVITABLY FAIL OVER TIME AND USE is getting cheaper.

I'll take a #StrixHalo Mini PC at $699 anytime of the day.

From my perspective, you cannot offer something worse at $599 when the Mac Mini M4 exists, let alone $1,000 when RTX 4060 laptops exist.

Plus, at this point NVIDIA and Apple for #AI are not negotiable. You either have it or you don't.

Still haven’t seen a #MiniPC that’s worth the money aside from the #MacMiniM4.

I believe the #SteamDeck and other handleds have taken the spotlight. For $500 you can get a decent portable gaming device.

From $1,000 you get into entry-level gaming laptop territory and that’s it. There is no room for Mini PC anymore above $300, where you start to find second hand Mac Mini. The 128GB HX 390 is niche.

So, thanks to the Amazon sale and £100 off the Base model #MacMiniM4, I have been spending the afternoon playing with it.

My thoughts so far I really like MacOSX!

I have installed a #Jellyfin server to play my legally owned backed up media that I have personally ripped from disk.

I have installed #ZenBrowser as I really like it.

Now, I am off to watch Lord of the Rings - Fellowship of the rings until midnight.
