Mark Gurman z Bloomberga w swoim najnowszym newsletterze „Power On” zrzucił prawdziwą bombę na profesjonalistów z ekosystemu Apple.
Według jego źródeł, firma w dużej mierze spisała Maca Pro na straty, a jego miejsce jako topowej stacji roboczej definitywnie zajął Mac Studio. To brutalne, ale potrzebne domknięcie historii, którą na iMagazine.pl śledziliśmy od dawna.
Anulowany M4 Ultra i M5 tylko dla Studio
Po miesiącach spekulacji w końcu mamy jasność. Gurman donosi, że Apple całkowicie anulowało prace nad chipem M4 Ultra. Wraz z nim anulowano również projekt Maca Pro, który miał go wykorzystywać.
To wyjaśnia dziwną premierę z marca 2025 roku, o której pisaliśmy, kiedy to nowy Mac Studio otrzymał mieszany zestaw chipów M4 Max i… M3 Ultra. Już wtedy było jasne, że Apple ma problem z linią „Ultra”.

To jednak nie koniec złych wieści dla fanów „tarki”. Gurman twierdzi, że następny high-endowy chip Apple, M5 Ultra, jest obecnie przeznaczony wyłącznie dla Maca Studio.
Mac Studio to „teraźniejszość i przyszłość”
Ostatnia aktualizacja Maca Pro miała miejsce w 2023 roku (z M2 Ultra) i wygląda na to, że była ostatnią na długi czas. Być może na zawsze.
„Z tego, co słyszałem wewnątrz firmy, Apple w dużej mierze spisało Maca Pro na straty” – pisze Gurman. „Nastroje wewnętrznie w firmie są takie, że Mac Studio reprezentuje teraz zarówno teraźniejszość, jak i przyszłość strategii profesjonalnych desktopów Apple”.
Wygląda na to, że dni modułowej stacji roboczej Apple w erze Apple Silicon są policzone, a cała moc profesjonalistów zostanie skupiona w znacznie mniejszej obudowie Maca Studio.
