Currently, only 63 maintainers are maintaining the nearly 90 thousand packages of the Arch Linux User Repository.

#Project #maintainers are assholes. You see, I used to submit but reports and try to do right by #opensource.. until around the time my 30th or so #bugreport was closed because they didn't like my formatting, or not following their strict rules for bugs and demanding but reports etc.. Fuck all of that.. Now I use a project until a some random #bug pops up a few times, and promptly uninstall as useless and forget about it for a few years..

I don’t get why people are complaining about the whole #linux Russian maintainer situation.

From what I understand, Linus is required to impose sanctions on the kernel as it belongs to the Linux Foundation which is recognized by the US government as an American foundation.

I believe he doesn’t really have a choice but feel free to correct me.

I know it violates what open-source stands for but there is not much we can do about it.

Seems #Linux will be #derussified by removing #maintainers from the #kernels /MAINTAINERS file who are from #russia or somehow connected to russia.

The removal don't seem to be permanent, there is a way to get listed again, my guess it's to prove you have understood history and what is going on at the moment and why russia shouldn't do it.
