A lake stretches away to a muddy shore.

Behind a trio of screening ducks (and a coot), eleven grey geese swim in a line (one going back the other way from ten of them). Most of the geese are fairly chonky with orange bills. Somewhere in the middle one, with a bit of a gap around it, is slighter and has a dark coloured bill.

I also dropped by at the coast yesterday. There were a lot of goosanders and mallards there. I caught these two doing synchronized preening for a brief moment. Oh, and at least there is one good thing about the short days here: midday sunlight is starting to look good now.
