My pieces in the #bridgesMathArt gallery this year:
A #chainMaille approximation of a pattern of edge-touching 18-gons and a Maple-specific “Manipulations“ print along with a crocheted squiggle of the type that I used in creating the image. #Maplesoft

That really is a photo of a 1990s-era Maple install disk in the background 😁. There is some information as to why in maplesoft.com/mapleconference/

A 6-fold rotationally-symmetric chainmaille pattern with a black hexagonal background suction-cupped to a glass wall. There is an information sheet on the lower right side and some people visible through the glass.A predominantly black, grey, white and red square print in a black frame with a white mat on a glass wall. There is a squiggly piece of crochet using red sequins and red and black metallic thread on a black background below it. There is an information sheet off to the left.

My #introduction: currently powering through undergrad PDEs and stochastic processes. These are the last weeks of the last semester of my math degree; am considering grad studies since it is now getting interesting, and don’t want to stop. Interests: #symboliccomputation #Maplesoft #differentialequations #math-communication, and more.

If there are any other #Maplesoft Maple users interested in how I build these, here's a #Jupyter notebook that runs using the Maple kernel that ships with Maple 2022 github.com/johnpmay/MapleSnipp

Here's a super old #project I did in #Maplesoft #Maple

I was playing a bunch of beta #Minecraft at the time, and got the idea that I could probably build commands to export 3D surface plots from Maple into objects in Minecraft. At the time I was only able to generate schematic files that could be put into a world map with an external editor, but it was still fun.

Both Minecraft and Maple have gotten better since then, I should really revist this.
