The Guardian has identified the self-described “national socialist” behind an openly extremist YouTube channel that in just over two months has accumulated 50,000 subscribers, seen more than 2.3m views, and likely made thousands of dollars from YouTube’s revenue-sharing monetization program.

Johnathan Christopher “Chris” Booth, 37, lives in the unincorporated community of Coral, a part of Maple Valley Township in Michigan’s Montcalm county, and is married to a senior local Republican official.

Booth has published more than 70 YouTube videos since May on his Shameless Sperg account, whose graphic design elements feature stylized SS bolts. Titles of his videos – generally a recording of him delivering his views direct to camera – include: “Why I Dislike Jews. It’s not complicated”, “Black Crimes Matter: Never Relax” and “Jews and FBI hate you and your free speech”.

Booth is married to Meghyn “Meg” Booth, the Republican treasurer of Maple Valley Township. Meg Booth has “liked” several posts with extremist themes on Chris Booth’s Facebook account with her personal account. Chris Booth’s Facebook page also features extensive racist propaganda along with iconography often employed by neo-Nazis.

Am Wochenende kam noch ein weiteres neues Spiel auf den Tisch. „Maple Valley“ (Deutsch), der Nachfolger von „Die Tiere vom Ahorntal“, was im Original "Creature Comforts" hieß. Da Ahorntal schon in der ersten Version vergeben war, gibt es den Nachfolger nun mit dem Englischen Titel.

Es geht diesmal nicht darum die Wohnung für den Winter schön zu bekommen sondern das Frühlingsfest vorzubereiten und dafür Ideen (Karten) und für deren Umsetzung Rohstoffe zu sammeln.

Es gibt wieder wunderschön und liebevoll gestaltete Karten, Tableau und Meeple. Auch hier gilt, wer unbedingt düstere Optik braucht und sich gerne als axtschwingender Zwerg durch die Orkhorden kämpft, dem wird die Optik nicht gefallen.

Die Spielmechanik um an die benötigten Ressourcen zu gelangen hat sich auch geändert, es werden keine Würfel mehr platziert sondern man bewegt sich, mit Freunden (Karten) auf Pfaden durch das Ahorntal und sammelt die Rohstoffe für die Ideen an den Zielpunkten, die man durch die Karten erreichen.

Das Ausspielen der Karten ist ähnlich, sie müssen mit den Rohstoffen bezahlt werden. Es gibt Orte wo man neue Karten bekommt, Freunde anheuern (bezahlen) und Rohstoffe tauschen kann. Eine Tag (Runde) endet, wenn alle nicht mehr ziehen können. Nach 5 Tagen ist das Spiel vorbei.

Das Spiel ist genauso wie der Vorgänger ein familientaugliches Wohlfühlspiel und macht mir gute Laune.

Zu zweit spielt es sich sehr gut und es kommt auch keine große Downtime auf. Wir haben die erste Partie mit Regel lesen in 1,5 Stunden durch gehabt. Normale Partien dürften dann 45-60 Minuten dauern. Solopartien sind auch möglich und das werde ich bestimmt demnächst auch mal ausprobieren.

I seriously love games by KTBG, but their catalog of great games has grown so much in the last few years and I haven't done a good job of keeping up with them.

Well I got to play Maple Valley tonight for the 1st time. Such a great game! So many different strategies to employ.

A "meaty" game experience for 1 to 5 players in just over an hour. I can't say enough good things about Maple Valley! Two thumbs way up. I will be getting my own copy of this fantastic game soon!

I went out with some close friends earlier this month to play #DiscGolf over at #GaffneysGrove in #MapleValley, course linked below. I did not win, or score particularly well, but had a great time nonetheless and I got some pleasing shots of the local flora. Wrapped up our game and left for home just as it started to get rainy and dark. Love my state, and look forward to getting back out into it.
