Tonight we went to the book signing for the new book Camera Corner, with photos by Wende Cragg, a very early participant in the activity that would come to be known as mountain biking, then called klunking, at the Marin Museum of Bicycling. The book was a collaboration with John Watson of The Radavist. So many luminaries were present at the signing, I could not list them all; Charlie Kelly, Joe Breeze, Jacquie Phelan, Don Koski were some of the people present.

If you love beautiful photos of early mountain bike rides, the history of mountain biking and, just a great big slice of bike culture, get this book. It would make a great Christmas present.

Brand new book, The Best Solution to Hunger In America: How to Set Up and Run an All-Volunteer, Community Food Rescue Organization, written by the founders of local Marin County nonprofit Respecting Our Elders. One of my gigs is helping a disabled woman get food from this org, which picks up from Safeway, Whole Foods, restaurants like McDonalds -- there's so much good fucking food that would otherwise go into landfill (creating methane, which is a way more potent greenhouse gas than CO2). I've had this gig for 2 years and I'm still amazed at how much delicious food (often organic, Fair Trade, vegan, etc) these places get rid of every fucking day.

I don't know if I have many fedifriends up here in north bay/sonoma/napa/marin, but if you're in the area... I'm singing with Cantiamo Sonoma and our Christmas concerts are next week and they're going to be *excellent*. This is honestly one of the most accomplished choruses I have ever sung in. Really good programming, excellent musicians.

Superb a capella choral music from the 17th century through modern day.
