Ghost forests are growing due to #sealevelrise
As trees choked by #saltwater die along low-lying coasts, #marshes may move in. Arboreal graveyards are showing up in places where the land slopes gently into the ocean and where salty water increasingly encroaches. Along the United States’ East Coast, in pockets of the West Coast, and elsewhere, saltier soils have killed hundreds of thousands of acres of trees, leaving behind woody skeletons typically surrounded by #marsh.

It was a hard and nervy kite aerial photography session - but we got one of the most fascinating lakes in Slovenia: the nearly circular Podpeč lake, a true Eye of the Marshes.

Sometimes a kite aerial photo seems dull ... Wrong camera settings? Lack of post-processing skills? Is it the old adage - dull weather, dull photos?

Perhaps.

But, at least to us, the real question is - is there really such a thing as a "dull" kite aerial photo? 😉

Went out to go to Lighthouse but misjudged the tide and no way to get across water, so spent awhile just sitting on hillside enjoying sun, then picked a few cranberries.

Looking east in the afternoon across tidal water that is receeding as the tide goes out. Just across the water, and going almost to the horizon are golden marsh grasses. Beyond them are some of the higher dunes, with the Coast Guard house atop one. Clouds overhead extend towards the horizon but there is a band of blue near the edge.
