I just wore my mask the entire time I got two diagnostic imaging tests done at a local hospital. I saw a few folks masking both staff and patients. No one gave me a hard time or hairy eyeball.

So, it appears #oncology is no longer #masking. Great timing, just before the summer surge. I guess dying from #covid is less bad than dying from #cancer? 🤷‍♂️ Even some of the already disabled patients seem to think so! #MaskUp 😷

When I was at the No Kings event I didn’t wear my mask despite the crowds because it was raining which I figured would take care of airborne stuff. I did wear my mask on the subway to and from the event.

Tuesday, colleague A (young) comes to work complaining of light #cold symptoms
Friday, colleague B (middle age) arrived to work with similar initial symptoms. Then arrived today with full-blown snot monster and desk full of drugs.
Colleague C and D already coughing and sneezing too.

People still ask me why I haven't stopped #masking in the office but never ask anyone why they come to work full of #contagious #virus

I'm at the airport. Aside from me, the only other people I've seen #masking is a pair of Asian ladies. One of them had some kind of head cover, and a brilliant solution for the mask: two pins on the sides of the head cover, with the mask loops hanging from them. My ears are so envious!

I feel I can’t keep hold of who I actually am. And it’s terrifying. Always trying to grasp for an ever-shifting/eroding sense of self.

I get so swayed and shaped by different potential ways I could be. Different frames of myself.

@actuallyautistic@a.gup.pe I've had someone say to me "But doesn't everyone have to mask at work?" 🤔 hmm... I stopped to think for a moment. As true, everyone puts on their professional face at work. But no. It's just not the same thing. So I explained it: Masking for an autistic person at work is probably more like having to go in to work all day everyday constantly doing an impression of Dick Van Dyke's character in Mary Poppins - just to appear in a way expected by everyone else. Yet, dropping that mask just for a second out of exhaustion, is the moment you do actually look to them like your dancing on the rooftop with a sweeping brush, singing in a very bad over the top London accent.
