N901DC, McDonnell Douglas MD-90-30 prototype in MD's in-house livery, on final approach to Runway 24 at Manchester Airport, operating one of a series of demonstration flights for various airlines based locally, 18th June 1993, as seen from the junction of Ringway Road and ShadowMoss Road.
**Spoiler** - none of them ordered any, and in fact one placed a large order for A320's a few days later, transitioning away from MD83's.

The HS.748 parked in front of the hangar in the background dates this to somewhere in the region of 1992-1994 - this particular Budgie was regularly seen in different parts of the airport, in a couple of different liveries and wearing several different registrations for at least 3 years before it finally left for Canada.

EDIT to add: This classic landed at SBD. San Bernardino airport is home to the US Forest Service air tanker base.

It sure seems this retired tanker has been pulled from storage and granted a new mission given the massive challenges in Los Angeles.
