I always felt Medal of Honor was a superior franchise to Call of Duty. While CoD definitely did have some great ones (CoD2, MW trilogy, Black Ops, even Advanced Warfare), MoH is the series that I enjoyed the most when I was younger.
It's a shame that the series has fallen apart so much. To me, the 2010 MoH was second only to Frontline, which will always be my favorite in the series and my favorite console shooter.

October 12, 1945 - Pfc. Desmond Doss became the first conscientious objector ever to be awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor. Doss, a Seventh Day Adventist, enlisted in 1942 but refused to carry a rifle or train on Saturdays. On the island of Okinawa, under heavy Japanese fire, he saved the lives of 75 sick and wounded soldiers by lowering them, one by one, down a 400-foot cliff.
The guest house at Walter Reed Army Medical Center is Doss Memorial Hall in his honor.

Here is an account of what the American Army heroes did at Wounded Knee, from the Wikipedia account. They butchered mostly disarmed men, and turned their Hotchkiss 42 mm gun on women and children in the Lakota camp's tipis. Various estimates of the Lakota casualties report 150-300 dead, plus many (mostly women and children) wounded. The US Army lost 25, many believed to have been killed by their own fire. It was a massacre by the US Army, and is most honestly reported as such.

It shouldn't surprise us that an administration that regularly violates the laws of war (such as by attacking random ships in the Caribbean that they claim are carrying drugs --- without a trial of course) would feel the need to continue to valorize war criminals and butchers of the past.
