Imgur protest changes every day! We had the front page filled with Hulk porn, next was "F**k you Business Daddy" aka Medialab AI, later a frontpage filled with boobs, and now - a blackout.

Yesterday saw the weaponized deployment of Intergalactic Quality™ GIFs, ones so big and with so much detail that each one caused the servers to shudder.
Today it looks like they're going for a different sort of shudder, as the front page is just boobs. Lots of boobs. It's like an 11 year old's search results.
As a loyal Imgurian for almost two decades this one hits close to home

I've been a regular visitor for years now and have watched the site's readership steadily decline since the #MediaLab takeover. This is the latest stage of a slow death. Don't know what I'm going to replace it with. There are precious few web sites left that are purely fun....
When I decided to disconnect from all social media a few years back (before joining here) the one site that I kept was #Imgur
If you are unaware, Imgur got bought out by a company called MediaLab recently, and they fired almost all the existing staff and replaced them with AI which has been failing as constantly as AI is want to fail.
Over the weekend Notifications broke, and when people tried to protest the AI started banning people and images, and it has now devolved into a multi-day protest of people spamming this image to the front page.
The worst part is that the reason John is the face of the revolution is that the image with him was being actively banned by Medialab's AI moderators
So by banning him, he became the face of the revolution, which will almost certainly draw the real him to do a scathing expose about Medialab
They did done do a Streisand Effect on themselves
I just learned about #Medialab and what's going on on IMGUR.

Dear Computer History people: I'm searching for books covering the history of the MIT Media Lab.The only one I found so far is "The Media Lab" by Stewart Brand, released in 1988. So a bit dated. Are you aware of other titles, which also cover the time AFTER 1988? It might be titles on other subjects but with a significant amount on the MIT Media Lab.
