There is a small bulbous explosion of white water in the middle of the wave, causing a rounded top with splashing droplets flying up from it and a white roiling cascade in front of that. All of that is springing from the center of what appears to be a small simple curling wave.
(It’s actually two similar waves coming in from left and right and crashing together in the middle.)

Don't think I've ever been to Arnarstapi when the sea wasn't raging. Wouldn't want to anyway. I enjoy watching big waves crashing against the sea cliffs too much.
