My uncle taught me that it doesn't matter how fast your motorcycle is, or even what kind of bike you ride. The journey is the destination. With a 200 km/h machine, you miss so much of the beauty that's all around you, which is why my uncle always preferred to ride at a leisurely pace. That was seventeen years ago when I got my moped license, and since then I still enjoy riding at 25 km/h.

This name means "mountain with sandy slopes" in the Saami language.
The ancient mountains crumbled many thousands of years ago. Now, these few layers of hard rock remain from the former heights. From them, one can guess where the mountain's top is. I climbed to the very top to look around.

After successful climb it was necessary to have a good meal. There was about 7 cars on the "observation deck" at that moment. The first sightseeing was a natural semiround crater, about 300 meters depth (or height). Lovozero Massif has two craters of such type. The second is very close. But it takes about 1 hour to get there. We reached the peak of Alluayv mount, walked along the Geologists' Pass and continued our wandering about that wonderful place.
The LTE was switched off there, GPS was jammed, and I noticed a small exploration (or whatever) village. To be continued. August 2025.

Пасля паспяховага ўздыму трэба было добра падсілкавацца. У адзін момант я налічыў на «аглядальнай пляцоўцы» 7 машын. Першай славутасцю быў другі цырк Раслака глыбінёй (ці вышынёй) каля 300 метраў. У Лавазер'і ёсць яшчэ адзін такі. Ён знаходзіцца побач, але ісці туды трэба каля гадзіны. Мы дасягнулі вяршыні гары Аллуайв, прайшлі перавал Геолагаў і працягнулі шпацыр па гэтым цудоўным месцы.
Там быў адключаны LTE, GPS заглушаны, і я заўважыў невялічкую даследчую (ці што там яшчэ) вёску. Жнівень 2025 года.

Wiring a new glaringly bright LED floodlight to the outside of the barn, because the romantic dim yellow WW2 era lightbulb has finally packed up.

Fingers and cables are stiff from cold and gloves make a simple job fiddly. Reminds me of my apprenticeship, when they sent me to wire up a newly built prison. Mostly inside work, but just a concrete carcass at that point, holes for windows and doors, chilly wind whistling through.

Also prisoners on site, under a work placement programme. Those weren't nearly as scary as the guards with trained dogs though.

I did it for two weeks, then faked being assigned to the telecoms department instead and went installing phone systems in comfy heated offices. I got into trouble for that, but it was worth it 😁
