A few common shore/water #birds from #Merimbula #NSW this past weekend. A pair of Masked Lapwings flying in formation, a Silver Gull, an Australian Pelican and an Australian White Ibis.

A pair of shorebirds flying in tandem over water. Each is at a downstroke and roughly similar in position. They are white below, their wings are grey-brown, and their flight feathers, tips to their tails and caps are black. Their bills are lemon yellow, with a small wattle. A yellow spur can be seen projecting from the forewing of the lower bird.

A gull with red legs and bill walking towards the left along a sandy ridge with blue sea and sky behind.

A black and white pelican with a pink bill sitting on a small dinghy with the name "The Limo" on its stern.

A black and white ibis standing with one leg raised on estuary mud with mangrove roots sticking up all round it.

I (badly) photographed this (currently identified) #Noctuidae species in #Merimbula #NSW. It was only when I transferred the images to my laptop that I saw the #pseudoscorpion crawling away - presumably it arrived by phoresis on the #moth - and how attractive the small beetle (#Staphylinidae) is with its pearly elytra.

Sorry not to have got a closer look at the pseudoscorpion - I love them so much.
