This design and the music with it is pure ASMR to me. Goosebumps galore.

Your Schematics are pretty easy to read. I like them a lot. One can clearly see that a lot of work and dedication went into the project. Thanks for sharing. I am thinking of using a somewhat different architecture but the building blocks are the same. I think I might copy a bit off your work ^^

This is how I design a modular #minicomputer modular case the old school way ...
These boxes are cheap sturdy and standardized. You can get a coaster roller for them. Standing on The small side they make nice cabinets to be displayed on a con table.
60x40x22 cm
Put in a little wooden framing and a transparent lid. Should be around 35 bucks a case. Simple to build.
Using discrete logic modules 10x10 cm, point to point wiring, cheap VGA cables for box connect
What do you think?
Question:
Can someone recommend a #headless #portable #MiniComputer?
I’m looking for something I can plug my #xreal One Pro glasses in and browse the web, read feeds and use mastodon.
I tried iPhone and iPad but found it cumbersome to control them without touch screen.
I’m thinking of using a small Bluetooth keyboard or game controller instead of touch.
I've put a gallery of photos I took during the INIT HELLO Apple II conference at the System Source Computer Museum this past weekend online for anyone who might like a look at some of the festivities.
What a wonderful time it was! Can't wait for next year!

"Hammurabi" written in #BASIC for the #PDP11 ... with some very funny cursings in the feedback session!

Decided to display the VAX-11/750 at the @revspace open day yesterday. All the hard work repairing it seems to have paid off, managed to get 14 hours of uptime out of it before shutting it down at the end of the day! #unix #retrocomputing #dec #vax11 #minicomputer #unixhistory #bsd

What am I doing today? Oh nothing, just strapping a tower cooler to my Intel SBC because it was getting too hot to touch before. #MiniComputer
I used the University of Leeds' Prime 750 computer (then very new) in 1980 to write a programme in, if I remember correctly, Fortran 77. The editor I used did not automatically number lines and the default to move from one line to another was to type, eg, -7, if you wanted to move 7 lines up.
Does anybody recognise this editor. Could it have been "ed"?
If you know people with an interest in 1980s minicomputers would you mind boosting? Thanks.

I've had minicomputers on my mind lately, particularly the old PDP-11. I just came across a special issue of the Bell System Technical Journal about a minicomputer Bell Labs built to shoot down nuclear warheads

I got tired of not finding antennas for this thing so I did what I do best and built some out of LEGO ✨ :blobfoxfloofreach:
(I encased the laptop antennas)
Today at the #HomeComputerMuseum repair department, a big minicomputer-like thing from the early 80s. Made by Compudata, a Dutch company that would later rename itself to Tulip Computers. We haven't really been able to find anything about what it is, despite having the faceplate with a name on it.
Also, with it came a big chonk of a hard drive, capacity not known. The hard drive seemed to include controller hardware, and consisted of a whopping FOUR separate PCBs stacked on top of each other. Thankfully the top two could be tilted upwards. The hard drive has some electrical issues so we're not sure if it still works.
Not shown are an equally large second computer case, containing two 8-inch floppy drives.
@soulscircuit They look amazing! 🤩 I really love the design, but I do have one suggestion: would it be possible to move the ports to the top next to the screen? Having them on the bottom left near the keyboard might be a bit inconvenient or annoying for left-handed users who hold the console with their left hand. 🤔
As for the color, I'm a bit boring, but I think a metallic silver or gray (like options 2 or 6) would look great. What do you think? 🤗 #PortableConsole #Pilet5 #minicomputer
A new module is about to drop. Any idea what it might be?
#Ireland-based #RetroComputing and #VintageComputing folks might be interested in a stash of #IBM, #DEC, #Wyse and other #mainframe and #minicomputer #GreenScreen #terminals, most dating from the 1980s and 1990s (without keyboards, unfortunately), as well as copious sealed #Windows95 CDs ("with USB support"), sealed 3½ inch #FloppyDisks, sealed and unsealed memory modules in the tens of megabytes range, sealed IBM branded PS/2 ball mice, vintage toner cartridges and ink ribbons. There's a single #Amstrad monitor for use with the #CPC454, an intriguing #Apricot-branded machine and some VGA-era monitors. Many of them will need work. There's a functioning #Windows98 machine.
The stash is located in a shed in the village of Rathdowney. You can contact the seller via adverts to arrange to see it: https://touch.adverts.ie/monitors/vintage-monitors-mobile-phones-etc/33899224
The seller is prepared to power on devices for you. I left with only a few handfuls of floppies as I already have more DEC terminals than I need.

was würdet ihr mir empfehlen?
