I suppose it's not that different from local companies here branding themselves as foreign, without claiming to be foreign.

This brand is huge.

I'm not pro/anti any certain country's brands, but kinda disappointed that a proud nation known for their fierce nationalism and perceived supremacy has a mega international brand hiding its #Chinese roots in its branding/marketing.

Sad.

First a young woman got arrested for wearing an un-Chinese Kimono for a photo shooting in Suzhou.

Now the company #Miniso (a pretty obvious mix of Uniqlo and Muji Store) apologizes for its "Japanese" branding and the outcry it has provoked with Chinese nationalists.
