My goodness some of these photos are like memory bolts for me. This interior of a Soviet Cafe is so prototypical as to be a madeleine of sorts for me. The stark lack of goods and information, the blocky analog cash register, some weird folksy decoration, wood details, the smock. It's also a ghostly self-portrait which delights the witness and time-traveller.

A beach with steep coastline, heavily forested. Plenty of fine sand and water that reflects bright sky and dark foliage.

My three little cameras (four if you include the completely inoperable one) each have their own quirky flaw.

The Minox occasionally decides not to actually trip the shutter, and its infinity focus point seems maladjusted.

The Olympus XA's shutter release is maddeningly flakey.

And the Rollei 35, in addition to having no slow shutter speeds, can't rewind film. I have to unload it in a changing bag 😭

I have photographed some #StreetTheatre performances, in this case (according to my notes): "Osmosis Cie" performing "Scene Urbaine: Mue - changement de peau ..." in July 1999. I have tried to select images that tell the story as I remember it. More in the alt texts.
