Fun fact 2: evolution has shaped the head of the penis however to displace competitors' semen from the vagina. Technically the larger the penis the better.

I'm reading a history of sex and Christianity, and the section on 1800s imperialism makes a simple point that had never occurred to me.
Most sub-Saharan African families were polygynous. In order to "civilize" Africans into monogamous marriage, White missionaries found themselves promoting divorce. Divorce was plainly against Christian teaching; and during that same time, being restricted back home in Europe. Not to mention the change caused suffering for newly abandoned wives and children. Some missionaries publicly argued that enforcing monogamy did more harm than good.

Assumption:
The issue with #Coldplay and #AndyByron and #KristinCabot is not that they were caught doing something unethical.
The issue is that #monogamy doesn't work and society isn't ready for concepts like #polyamory or open relationships.

I'd like to start a collection of books, that are great eye-openers against normative concepts.
I have read 2 books so far, that I think fit:
#Ace by #AngelaChen: Maybe the standard work on asexuality and a great book to understand and question allo-normativity (allo(sexual) being the opposite of ace/asexual)
#Platonic by #MarisaGFranco: An homage to platonic partnerships and against romantic normativity or also allo normativity (allo(romantic) being the opposite of aromantic here)
I'm next looking for a book on #RelationshipAnarchy to add to the list. Is there like a go-to book or must read? Please let me know.
Also do you know of any other books, that fit into the collection? It can be about/against any kind of normativity, not just related to gender, relationships and identity.
