I use discarded plastic gift cards as scrapers and spreaders to paint my pictures with a little use from brushes. I also use green and yellow Frog Tape and paper stencils and masks. I use sanding blocks to smooth rough spots in the painting and very old sanding blocks to buff the surface of painted areas. Sometimes when I buff certain colors it changes the tone slightly which is not necessarily undesirable in may cases. On very rare occasions I will use a varathane varnish to cover my paintings.

Morro Rock as seen from across the bay along the Embarcadero in Morro Bay, California. You can see part of the Sand Spit just above the water line. Morro Rock is part of what is known as the Nine Sisters and string of volcanic formations between San Luis Obispo and Morro Bay. Climbing on the rock is not allowed but you can walk along the base on the east side of the rock.
I reworked the image using some filters and tools in Snapseed. I took the photo with the camera on my Galaxy S22 Ultra phone.
