That's funny this channel just released a video. Personnally, I killed my CPU and the motherboard out of lack of attention (it takes just half a second at the wrong moment), the motherboard was not guilty (14 yrs, not a single failure). Now, I would say those socket designs are not great anyway (all vendors are concerned)..
NB: the hole on the picture is trying to fix it later on.

Careful when buying relatively old refurbished MBs (10 years+). I got one that passes memtest no problem, and still freezes on normal load (running an OS). #mosfetsForMisfits

It is really interesting, I am not into OC so, that's probably why.

Okay, have to get this off my chest.

#PBTech sucks. Customer service is non-existent (i.e. rude and dismissive)

Bring a damaged #motherboard in and service guy doesn't want to listen, "oh you bent the pin" he says, despite the fact that there's been issues since day one.

If installing the CPU is enough to bend the pin, we call that a manufacturing defect, not a customer error.

Never buying from #PBTech again.

#Grub or not to grub ?

I realised that the new #fedora installation that I did a couple of days ago was using grub. Although not a problem or a big deal. I booted into the #bios changed the #legacy setting to #uEFI Win7. (Yes it's an old #motherboard only giving Legacy, uEFI win7 or uEFI win8 as choices). Rebooted from the USB and ran a clean install again. Now it's with #systemd. Did it change anything? no, but it was fun to do.
