#fossgis2025
The video from mine, Felix Gündling's, and @Jbb talk about Transitous, MOTIS, and GNOME Maps at FOSDEM 2025 is now available at:

From the way to #FOSDEM here's what happened around #KDE Itinerary in the past two months: https://volkerkrause.eu/2025/01/31/kde-itinerary-december-january-2025.html - A redesigned timeline UI and #Transitous completing the migration to #MOTIS v2, to just name two things.
@awinkler for which region? For car only routing there exist several (#graphhopper, #osrm, #valhalla ), for transit routing, data availability is still an issue. The #transitous project is the largest free instance I‘m aware of. For smaller regions, you might self-host e.g. an #OpenTripPlanner or #MOTIS instance https://transitous.org/
Our talk "GNOME Maps and Transitous Based on Global Routing with MOTIS" for FOSDEM 2025, to be held by me, Felix Gündling, and Jonah Brüchert has been accepted!

New trip map view, per-trip statistics, Android platform integration improvements and preparations for #Transitous moving to #MOTIS v2 - the past two month around #KDE Itinerary: https://volkerkrause.eu/2024/11/30/kde-itinerary-october-november-2024.html
Implementing the updated MOTIS v2 API in #GNOME Maps
Still incomplete, as can be seen by the JS stacktraces due to loads of missing stuff…

Side-effect of implementing #MOTIS v2 support during the #OSM Hack Weekend in Karlsruhe: we now also have a full trip map view in #KDE Itinerary: https://volkerkrause.eu/2024/10/26/osm-hack-weekend-october-2024.html
At the #OSM Hack Weekend in Karlsruhe, preparing #KDE Itinerary for the #MOTIS v2 upgrade of #Transitous.
Is there someone I can get in touch with to try to add some agencies in my region to transitous? I have looked over the public docs but am not sure I can do this on my own.
I have never contributed to any open source projects before, but I'd really like to so. It would be nice to be able to use Gnome Maps and transitous for routing in my region.

I think the number of reference issues here is some kind of record for me…
Early steps of MOTIS support in #gnomemaps for upcoming #transitous support. An example from the SF Bay area. Still all times are shown in UTC, and transportation modes aren't yet mapped, among lots of other missing stuff…

Small #GTFS-RT processing optimization in #MOTIS v0.11.22, should enable #Transitous to scale up to many more feeds :)
#MOTIS support coming to #KDE's KTrip and Itinerary, paving the way for using #Transitous there: https://volkerkrause.eu/2024/02/23/kpublictransport-motis-support.html
At the next #OpenTransportMeetup on Feb 21st, 8pm CET, @VolkerKrause will present the #transitous project recently initiated at #fosdem2024, which strives for Europe wide transit routing based on #opendata and #opensource #motis. And #LarsRöglin will present the #MobidromNRW's vision for an open source routing.
