Moza R25 Ultra wheel base review: take your racing setup to new heights, but at a cost that might make your eyes water if you're new to enthusiast-level gear
My Moza R9 is a 9nm wheel base that is considered mid-range in price and power. There a wheel bases that go up to 25nm.
I came from racing for years on a Logitech G29 which has a peak torque of around 2nm.
So, I was surprised this morning when I crashed my BMW M4 GT4 into a wall at Brands Hatch and the wheel got away from me, but my right thumb was still hooked into the thumb hole on my GT wheel. Ouch. That hurt.
My new wheel arrived yesterday. It’s a Moza GS V2P. The Moza FSR2 I had is going back because it’s a bit much, it’s heavy and I found I wasn’t really using the screen. And it was expensive.
So far the GS V2P has been great with my Moza R9 V3.

Tonight:
One LFM race in Automobilista 2, I got on podium... But, there were only three racers including me. Ha. But, I guess a podium is a podium.
Then a race in Automobilista 2 with my son and AI. Him on his gaming rig with a Moza setup. Me on my gaming rig with my Moza setup. We raced on Laguna Seca in GT3's with 30 other AI racers. It was a crazy fun race.
I've become a huge fan of Automobilista 2. It's a fun sim racing game. The AI provides a lot of challenge and makes natural mistakes. There are so many cars and tracks to pick from -- not just current cars and tracks, but historic ones too.
I upgraded my wheel. This is a Moza FSR2 Formula Wheel.

Having used my #Moza #AB9 #ffb base for some time now, I can without a doubt say that I can’t go back to using a stick that doesn’t feature force feedback. There’s a lot of intuition you gain through how the stick feel changes with the aircraft that makes the experience of flying that much better.
One of the coolest features is the fact you can experience the simulated feel of your chosen aircraft’s stick. With a traditional cam and spring base, every plane and heli feels the same. With force feedback, almost every plane and heli feels different in ways unique to each one.
If you trim any plane or heli, the stick physically moves to lessen the physical burden on your hand and arm. You know when you’re trimmed correctly because it feels correct, and adjust accordingly throughout the flight to minimize fatigue. That’s something you can’t get with a traditional stick.
I’m glad force feedback is gaining traction in the “mid-range” tier with Moza and soon Winwing and Virpil releasing their own force feedback bases for their sticks. More variety and competition only benefit us flight simmers. I just wish there were even cheaper options so more people can experience this.

update on my #moza experience, they told me they would ship it out "asap" which is what they told me 10 days ago and told me they would send me a free pedal upgrade to a product i dont own. I countered with sending an invoice of the 4 months of pimax sub ive paid and been unable to use and asked for a complete refund so i could buy and overnight a thrustmaster th8a

On the subject of games, vaguely, my new #MOZA force-feedback stick and base has been a great experience so far. I’ve flown various planes in DCS and MSFS and found the experience of flying a lot more intuitive. The feedback you get is not only immersive but helps you fly better. Doubly so for helis.
The single biggest success of this force feedback setup is the joy I get out of feeling the plane be a plane. How wind washing over the wings changes with your speed and angle of attack. How the prop of a Cessna thuds softly against your hand when idling. The rumble of the gear retracting. Highly recommend it.
Even the built-in vibration of Winwing’s ViperAce stick doesn’t do it justice. There’s just so much more to the experience. Even in an F-16 or an A320.
my broken #moza shifter has been sitting in a ups depot since the 5th. at this rate ill never get my replacement
