Mount Fremont Lookout, part three - from Hikes of 2024.

I've somehow managed to get about a month behind in regards to posting. I suppose I should have expected that, as August was busy - trips to Iowa, the North Cascades, a camping trip, and more.

I'll always remember this particular hike, as I met a lovely couple from the area while waiting up at the lookout for the mountain to *maybe* show itself for a moment. The conversation provided a welcome change to my few days of solitude in the park.

Naches Peak Loop & Crystal Lake, part three - from Hikes of 2024.

This was a lovely day - a mix of fog and mist, followed by sunny skies and sparkling lakes.

Two exciting things to share; yesterday I saw a big bear and today it rained! Washington finally getting some much needed water, we are running low everywhere and this state has a reputation for being wet. For example Paradise lodge & Inn inside Mt Rainier National Park ran out of water two weeks ago! Here is how Myrtle Falls flow was on July 6 compared to yesterday, September 28.

Thankfully big storm came in today, which put this black bear on a mission yesterday to eat all the berries left. I was guiding a group of six, we had the perfect viewpoint safely on a high ridge two creeks & valleys away. Forecast is calling for possibly a foot of snow (30cm) this week! Things are looking up already and its only Monday.

The views coming off Mount Rainier in Mount Rainier National Park are almost absurd because they are so beautiful. It almost looks like a painting but it’s all real life.

The Longmire Trail is a very family-friendly beautiful trail that winds around the Longmire Farm area. It goes past old cabins, wetlands, hot springs and has incredible views of both the Ramparts and Mount Rainier itself.
