Sad news for the #eurovision :eurovision_heart_2025: Grand Final:

My local broadcaster reached out again and told me that the bad audio mix is (at least partly) due to EBU rules. Specifically, the LFE channel isn't allowed to be used in competing songs.

This must be a new rule, since my #ESC2024 :eurovision_heart_2024: recording has full 5.1 audio, even during the acts. Sounds much better in comparison, in my opinion.

I again recommend reaching out to your broadcaster to get that changed at the EBU level for next year. :boosts_encouraged:

During the first semi-final yesterday, I noticed that the German broadcast had no LFE channel output during the acts, only in-between. Audio mixing of the acts also felt sub-par overall.

A short clip of a work in progress, which will eventually be diffused over 4 or 8 speakers, accompanied by an indeterminate number of listener-controlled Bluetooth/phone speakers, running a simple web-browser sine wave instrument. As usual it never feels slow enough for me, so most of the time working on the patch is listening.
