About thirty years ago I learned that (about twenty years earlier) #PunkRock was largely introduced to #America by #NewYork club #CBGB.
CBGB was where #TheRamones, #Blondie and maybe #PattySmyth got a lot of exposure.
I always thought it was a little funny that the club's name was an #Acronym for #Country (music), #Bluegrass and #Blues.
Because whenever I think of Blondie or the Ramones, of COURSE I'm thinking of country music, bluegrass, and the blues.

Wonder how it relates to Charles Wheatstone’s 1929 symphonium (that became the English #concertina?
I'm sure I passed by this piece from the Library of Congress collection many times without giving it another glance, but in googling Jacob Manishor (klezmer from Iași born in the 1860s, active in NYC till the 1920s) I was led back to it. Despite the title it reminds me a bit of the Romanian "Carmen Sylva" waltzes you find in old NY klezmer.
