Muting a user removes them from your notifications...so practical and also you don't suddenly start an unnecessary feud with them...

...and perhaps I/you was wrong. Maybe shouldn't have been muted. Maybe was a misunderstanding...but...

...and a big but...muting gives a peace of mind that is necessary to keep your calm and still feel welcome in the fediverse.
