Ahh, #natsukashii!

When I was a JET at an academic high school back in the mid-1990s, I asked some students:

"How are you?"

got stares, giggles, and "ee, nani?"

tried again and asked:

"How are you today?"

they replied in unison:

"Fine, thank you. And you?"

And that is the funny / cute anecdote. Many, many grammar translation "reading" and "writing" class anecdotes that are not funny at all.

Are they still testing the 5 "aches"?
