Im Vordergrund halte ich ein Skizzenbuch hoch. Darauf ist ein kleiner Fliederzweig. Die Blüten sind zum großen Teil noch geschlossen. Vereinzelt sind die Blüten offen. Gezeichnet mit schwarzer Tusche, koloriert mit Aquarell. Es ist eher sehr locker Gezeichnet und aquarelliert.
Im Hintergrund ist ein großer Fliederbusch. Der Himmel ist strahlend blau.

März 2025 in meinem Garten. Nach lang andauerndem Frost einige warme Tage. Nur wenig Niederschlag, insgesamt ist der Monat trocken. Die partielle Sonnenfinsternis am 29. ist nicht wirklich zu sehen. Das Rotkehlchen folgt mir bei der Gartenarbeit. Es hat gelernt, dass Menschen Würmer und Insekten ausgraben. Als Insektenfresser schätzt es diese Unrerstützung. Bei Feuchtigkeit sind sofort wieder viele Schnecken unterwegs. Frühblüher locken die kleine Gehörnte Mauerbiene an.
Jemand nutzt meine Bärlauchpflanzung (Allium ursinum) als Katzenklo.

March 2025 in my garden. After a long period of frost, a few warm days. Only a little precipitation, making the month dry overall. The partial solar eclipse on the 29th isn't really visible. The robin follows me while I garden. It has learned that humans dig up worms and insects. As an insectivore, it appreciates this support. When it gets wet, lots of snails are immediately on the move again. Early bloomers attract the small horned mason bee.

When a Red-tailed Hawk perched in a nearby pine tree for a few weeks the Cooper’s Hawks that were there disappeared. Once the RtH moved on the CHs returned & have been building a nest in the tree. Here’s my Perpetual Journal art of the RtH & Cedar Waxwings from ‘23.

Het gewoon speenkruid staat voor mij symbool voor veel: het einde van de winter, eerste zonnige lentedagen, maar vooral voor mijn liefde voor wilde bloemen. Met dit bloemetje begon het allemaal. Maart 1981, 11 jaar oud, gingen we met de klas naar buiten om het allereerste bloemetje voor ons te maken herbarium te zoeken. 50 wilde bloemen zoeken, drogen, determineren en de habitat bepalen.
