🧠 Ever wonder what shapes emotion? It rises from vast ensembles of neurons and glia whose activity shifts across sleep, experience, and daily rhythms.

These cellular conversations sculpt mood, memory, and attention, revealing the brain as an integrated living system.

✍️ Explore how these cellular ensembles shape emotion: TPC8.short.gy/oZn2jpVg

💡 The mind emerges from the symphony of its cells.

🧠 New paper by Ishida et al who show how in the central complex implement vector inversion via spikes.

A single can flip the sign of its encoded vector by switching biophysical modes, enabling coordinate transformations through rather than circuit switching.

Cool as it shows that computation is not imposed by the circuit, but emerges from the neuron’s own dynamics.

Using kHz across the full tree, they show that fast dendritic spikes are usually driven by somatic , not independently initiated. propagation into apical dendrites is contin. modulated by pre-spike dendritic voltage & can trigger slower plateau potentials linked to complex spikes.

Dear Friends of SLM (Small Language Models),

As some of you may know:

- Books don't think, however thick. (Same for #Databases as large as the Internet)
- By rearranging processing a lobster can requantamise its #Behaviour based on #Environmental factors.
- Lobsters only have 100 000 #neurons

So let us reconfigure:
- If an AI follows the agenda of a moron tech class to increase profit. Promote some petty #Agenda. It lessens the learning for [insert hallucinating GIGO of choice]
- The world of humans, create, predict and play or multitask. They are priceless not commodities.

- Now a short message from the past (includes song)

A standard #opticalillusion triggers specific neurons in the #visual system of mice.
“Illusions are fun, but they are also a gateway to perception,” says Hyeyoung Shin, assistant professor of neuroscience at Seoul National Universitym first author of a new study in Nature Neuroscience that identified a specific population of neurons in #visualcortex—dubbed IC-encoders—and shows a direct role in representing a visual illusion.

When thinking, the human brain performs a true masterpiece of information processing: around 100 billion #neurons communicate with each other via approximately 100 trillion connections. An international #research team, including scientists at #MPZPM, discovered that the mechanical properties of the developing brain influence both synapse formation and the emergence of electrical signals.
