I finally managed to do some photography on Sunday, along with dog walking, and teenager delivery duties.

The Wairau River is the largest river in the Marlborough District. Here at Spring Creek it represents a major flood risk to the small community so major flood protection engineering has been undertaken on both banks to contain the river.

On the regular weekday dog walk after doing the school run I captured some photons in the park.
When you repeatedly visit the same location it can be challenging to find new ways to see it, but I usually take my camera anyway.
With lots of fallen leaves in the park at the moment, I'm considering collecting some, boiling them up, and using the liquid as toner for a cyanotype of this.

A young Sir Edmund Hillary visited here with some friends, and scrawled his name on the rafters in the 1940s, on his way to climb nearby 2120m Pinnacle.
The hut is no longer in use, and has been replaced by a nearby more modern one. (The historic toilet also still exists).
Public access to New Zealand's backcountry huts is under threat due to government cost cutting at DOC, however Backcountry Trust (https://www.backcountrytrust.org.nz/) is a charity that raises funds and volunteers to keep huts and tracks open to the public.
A gallery would take a commission if I sell anything, but I'm open to offers and to donate the 'commission' to the trust. (I need to eat too).
