@nextcloud people, I'm trying to find out if the chat ability in Talk uses encryption.
Thus far I've found some older information that states this is not the case and that chat text messages are stored plain-text. Is this still the case?
If messages are encrypted I'd like to know if it is truly E2E including at rest & what sort of encryption is used.
Any hints, tips very welcome. Thanks!
My move from Google Drive/Docs is slow but steady. #NextCloud text (https://github.com/nextcloud/text) is a lightweight alternative to Google Docs for collaborative editing. Based on #Markdown documents with some added functionality such as tagging collaborators. I like it.

I’ve been researching and testing a whole bunch of solutions for open source projects while explicitly evaluating them on their fit for something pretty cool I’m working on. The gist is supporting an inviting, easy-to-join open source community of mixed-age members (including teens and adults). Due to this, safety and moderation tooling are extremely important. And so is price!

There is a rate limit for #Nextcloud #calendar subscriptions set to 30. The exception tells that - client messages do not.
You can turn that limit off by using `occ config:app:set dav maximumCalendarsSubscriptions --type=integer --value=-1`, see https://docs.nextcloud.com/server/latest/admin_manual/groupware/calendar.html#rate-limits

I hope you had a nice weekend.
I spent the vast majority of the past two months in full time filmmaking mode, for my Fedi promo video.
Now that the French (https://news.elenarossini.com/fedivers-video/) and the Italian (https://news.elenarossini.com/fediverso-video/) voice-over narrations are complete, I can finally resume my self-hosting adventures.
On the agenda for later this week: updating the version of my Ghost installation, which is something I am genuinely self-hosting, without the help of YunoHost...
I already did it once a couple of months ago, but now the stakes are higher because I'm getting hundreds of visits every day (since publishing the Fedi promo video).
Second item on my to do list: figuring out how to log onto #NextCloud from my mobile phone (the iOS app keeps spinning when I enter my server name).
I'm just really grateful to be able to do all this... A mere 6 months ago it would have seemed impossible.
