Last image for the night from the s50. Here is / .

C4 / NGC 7023 The Iris Nebula - telescope processed image with Moon and Sky Light filter. Located 1,300 light-years away, this reflection nebula's blue "petals" span 6 light-years and are lit by a massive young star. C4 / NGC 7023 The Iris Nebula - unprocessed image with Moon and Sky Light filter. While mostly blue from scattered starlight, it contains red filaments caused by complex carbon molecules called PAHs.

Decided to see if I could get better results observing .

NGC 7023 Iris Nebula - telescope processed image. NGC 7023 is the "Iris Nebula," a beautiful reflection nebula in Cepheus. It glows blue as the light from its central, hot star, HD 200775, reflects off the surrounding dust.NGC 7023 Iris Nebula - unprocessed image. Nicknamed the "Iris" Nebula , its beautiful blue glow is starlight reflecting off dust. It also has red filaments, suggesting complex hydrocarbon molecules.

After I took the image of the moon this morning, thought it would be interesting to aim the Odyssey Pro to as well. Perhaps it was the full moon out or the Nebula was already to low in the horizon. After 49 minutes these are the images I got. The auto enhance took some big liberties. Interesting seen the frame rotate in both images. Might try again on Friday evening to see if I get a better image.

NGC 7023 The Iris Nebula - telescope processed image. Most of the time the auto enhance feature on the telescope does make the images nicer. I can’t state the same on this image. NGC 7023 The Iris Nebula - unprocessed image. The image does not seem too bad compared to others I have done earlier this year.

So I answered my question from yesterday of what a whole night observation of with th s50 would look like. From 7:30 PM to 4:30 AM. 1221 stacked 20 second exposure images. The last image shared is an observation of the Iris Nebula from April 2025.

NGC 7023 The Iris Nebula - s50 telescope processed image. Compared to last morning’s image, there seems to be more details with the nebula clouds. Background is not as dark though. NGC 7023 The Iris Nebula - s50 unprocessed image. Even without the denoising, more star details seem to come through. NGC 7023 The Iris Nebula - telescope processed image from the Odyssey Pro from April 2025. 24 minute duration.

Good Monday morning. Left the s50 outside yesterday performing 3 observations. First of these observations is - yes again. This time the stack duration is 843 images. Still make me wonder what would show if I left it out all night viewing this nebula.

NGC 7023 The Iris Nebula - telescope processed image. NGC 7023, the Iris Nebula, is a beautiful blue reflection nebula in Cepheus, about 1,300 light-years away. Its dust reflects light from a central star.NGC 7023 The Iris Nebula - unprocessed image. This beautiful reflection nebula glows blue as dust reflects the light of its central star. Its "petals" of cosmic dust make it resemble an iris flower.

The last of yesterday’s planned observation with the s50 was another attempt at .

NGC 7023 The Iris Nebula - telescope processed image. The Iris Nebula is a reflection nebula in Cepheus, shining blue from a central star's light scattering off dust. It's approximately 1,300 light-years away and spans approximately 6 light-years. NGC 7023 The Iris Nebula - unprocessed image. The Iris Nebula's blue glow comes from tiny dust grains scattering light from its central star, similar to how Earth's atmosphere makes our sky blue.

Decided to let the s50 take a look at .

NGC 7023 Iris Nebula - telescope processed image. This stunning blue reflection nebula gets its light by scattering the glow of a hot, young central star, HD 200775, giving it a flower-like look. NGC 7023 Iris Nebula - unprocessed image. Its beautiful blue color comes from starlight being scattered by incredibly fine dust particles, the same way our Earth's atmosphere makes the sky blue.
