This is how Language Technology Group at the University of Oslo looks like these days :)
New blogpost:
Lessons from the first year of my PhD
I finished my PhD in computer science more than three years ago. Now that I have a little bit of mental distance from my PhD time, I'm going through my research diary to see if there's stuff in there that can be useful for other people.
Apparently I'm incapable of writing short-form texts, so here is part 1. ;)

I looked again at the PoeTree project after having heard of it at @comphumresearch.bsky.social, it's just amazing!
Great job @artjomshl.bsky.social

If you happen to be in Dublin or Warsaw, don't hesitate to say hi & have a cup of coffee with the ReCos. ☕
I was just sent this photo, supposedly taken in 1994: Björn Beutel, developer of the Malaga language, and myself are working in the CLUE (Computational Linguistics University of Erlangen) lab.
I’m a bit hesitant to tag this #retrocomputing ;-)
Language Technology Group #Oslo will be presenting five papers at the #ACL2025NLP conference @aclmeeting this summer in #Vienna: 🧵
🏛️ On June 4, our colleague Jonathan Tonglet will present our work "Protecting MLLMs against misleading visualizations" at the Royal Flemish Academy of Belgium for Science and the Arts – hosted at the Palace of the Academies in Brussels.

Are LM more than their behavior? 🤔
Join our Conference on Language Modeling (COLM) workshop and explore the interplay between what LMs answer and what happens internally ✨

Is In-Context Learning (ICL) in LLMs Memorisation? Emergence? Some Algorithmic Capability? 🤔
📢New work exploring ICL in LLMs: arxiv.org/abs/2505.11004
